Connecticut
Sexual Assault Crisis Services, Inc CONNSACS is a statewide association of individual sexual assault crisis programs working to end sexual violence through victim assistance, community education and public policy advocacy. Most recently CCSU Social Work Program have placed students at two sexual assault centers (SACS). Requirement: All volunteers and interns must receive a minimum of 40 hours of sexual assault/sexual abuse training required for certification, provided by CONNSACS. Description: To provide support for victims, friends, and family of sexual assault/sexual abuse, sexual harassment and stalking. Provide medical and legal advocacy to victims. Opportunities include: 24 hr. crisis counseling; short-term, supportive counseling; police and emergency advocacy; community education and self-defense classes.

Resettlement Program
Description: This program is designed to assist offenders transition back into the community following their incarceration. It gives ongoing assistance to former prisoners in finding and accessing those community resources that will be useful in locating housing, employment, education, food and other necessities.
